A professional floor covering inspector becomes certified after meeting requirements that include industry experience, participation in a required training program, and passing a rigorous test. David Horan, President of Pro Floor Services is a qualified floor covering inspector. He has many years of industry experience beyond that required for certification. David continues to improve his education by attending industry seminars, doing research, and obtaining new certifications as they become available.
Keeping abreast of new products and industry trends requires a steadfast commitment to the flooring industry. The floor covering inspector is considered to be the foremost authority on flooring products and installations.
Our extensive knowledge of the flooring products and decades of installation experience gives Pro Floor Services a huge advantage over many other "inspectors".
David Horan has been involved in the floor covering industry since 1986. After finishing his education at Penn State University he quickly found an industry that was both interesting and challenging. He has held various positions over the years with retailers, wholesale distributors, and manufacturers. David has installed hundreds of thousands of square feet of flooring. He is a certified Master Installer. For the last 12 years David has been the President of Pro Floor Services, Inc.
In October David attended the NICFI annual convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was elected to the position of Vice President of NICFI for 2010. NICFI is made up of the "cream of the crop" in the flooring inspection industry. Being recognized by his peers and elected to this position is an honor that he does not take lightly. To find a NICFI member in your area, go to www.nicfi.org
David has done work for many major floor covering manufacturers on a sub-contract basis. He continues to do corporate training seminars and installation training for other flooring industry professionals. He frequently works with several manufacturers on their marketing and advertising projects. He actually installs many of the floors that are used in product catalogs and other advertising materials. If you have been in a floor covering store or a home center in the last 5 years you have seen some of his work.
David recently made an appearance on The Learning Channel's show "While You Were Out". Of course, he was answering questions for the host and installing a new floor for the surprised homeowners.
NALFA, The North American Laminate Flooring Association, recently developed a new training program for professional installers. David consulted with the NALFA team in an effort to make the best laminate training program available today. He is a graduate of the first class to recieve NALFA certification.
Projects such as these don't come along for just any floor covering inspector. The professionals in the industry want someone they can count on to do the job right...the first time.

New products and procedures are constantly being introduced in the floor covering industry.
Keeping abreast of the latest innovations is critical to being the best at what we do.
David will be attending 3 days of training at the North Carolina State University during March 2010. NCSU labs conduct much of the industry leading testing on flooring materials.
